Refugee Week 2020 – Calendar of Events
Dear friends, today marks the World Peace Day. The No Hate Speech Movement (NHSM) campaign of the Council of Europe observes this global occasion by launching another action day today. This time the theme is Action Day countering Hate Speech against Muslims. You can find the list of suggested actions here: http://nohatespeechmovement.org/hate-speech-watch/actionday
On the NHSM website you can also find the diverse examples of past Action Days e.g. countering sexist hate speech, supporting victims of hate crime, tackling anti-Semitism, campaigning for safer internet, and call of action for human rights online.
Stereotypes, media myths, “cultural superstitions”, “fear of the unknown”, intolerance, xenophobia, racism, fascism -all of which form various degrees of fear and hatred altogether- can always be addressed, analysed, discussed and tackled by peaceful means. The NHSM campaign is one of such unique global platforms where you can learn, contribute, strengthen and practise the counter and alternative narratives against hate speech, and offer constructive criticism to the misinformed, misled and indoctrinated hate-filled souls.
